Introduction

Among Goryeo Celadon patterns, the most decorated plant patterns include peonies, lotus flowers, chrysanthemum, bamboo, and Japanese apricot flowers, and this special exhibition shows flower patterns on Goryeo Celadon in accordance with the seasonal changes. Peony stands for riches, honors, and prosperity, and lotus flowers stand for noble men and integrity. Flower patterns according to the seasonal changes, including peonies in Spring, lotus flowers, and waterside views in Summer, and chrysanthemum in Autumn, all show the changes of decoration techniques and pattern formation from different times at glimpses.
